Remember the Sega Genesis? Yeah, those were the days. I never really played on too many consoles as a kid. It was all C64 and Amiga gaming for me. In the late 90’s my uncle acquired a Genesis and I had a lot of fun on there. Games like Ecco the Dolphin (my aim screen name is eccothedolphin7), The Lion King, and the Deep Space Nine game kept me entertained for hours.

Well now a bit of that nostalgia is coming to Steam! Starting on June 1st you will be able to acquire some Sega Genesis games from Steam and other digital distributors.

Games set for launch day are: Altered Beast, Comix Zone, Crack Down, Ecco the Dolphin, Gain Ground, Golden Axe, Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi, Sonic 3D Blast, Space Harrier II, and Vectorman.

I hope this bit of awesome new brightens your day! It’s raining here in Maine and this helped the sun shine a little bit. (wow, that was sappy…)

There is no evidence of them adding achievements, but I can dream, can’t I?

The best part about all this? They are all only $2.99. So when your bored and you need a quick gaming fix, or you just want to revisit some old memories, be sure to check these out in June.

Keep on (retro) gaming people!

YES. Bring some old-school Phantasy Star, and I'm all over it.
