O:SD Gamers with Guts – Top 5 Gaming Snacks for Dieters

It has been about a month since Gamers for Guts kicked off, and I am here today to talk about my top five gaming snacks for losing weight. I am basing these snacks off of Weight Watchers Points Plus program, but these are also healthier choices for other diets as well.


5. Goya Maria Cookies  


These are great for when you are gaming and you want to grab a quick bite. The five cookies are perfect for a light afternoon gaming snack and something to fill you up between meals.  

4. Angel Food Cake with Berries 


If you have a sweet tooth but don’t want to go off your diet, I suggest picking up an instant angel food cake mix and adding berries. It takes 40 minutes to bake, and it serves 12, so you will have a snack for several of your long gaming sessions. For once, the cake is not a lie.  

3. Popcorn  


Popcorn is a great snack. The air-popped popcorn is the recommended choice because it doesn’t have the salt and butter flavour, but if you are like me and find the air-popped popcorn too bland, add 2 tsp of melted butter/margarine. Great for gaming, watching a movie, or pretty much anything.  

2. Schnedier’s Turkey Pepperettes  


These are also great for when you are gaming and you want to grab a quick snack. Three or four pepperettes are pretty filling for a midnight snack, and you won’t miss any gaming time if you grab them in between online matches.  

1. Pizza on a Wrap 


Most gamers like pizza, myself included. A simple solution to avoid store-bought pizza is to make your own. All you need is a tortilla wrap, pizza sauce, and the toppings of your choice. It takes about 5-10 minutes to prepare the ingredients and another 5 minutes to bake. Fifteen minutes out of your gaming time isn’t bad, especially if you are craving pizza.

      These are healthier choices of snacks for dieters who want something other then just fruits and veggies. You still have to eat right and I am not telling you to eat everything on this list in 1 or 2 sittings. These are just several snacks that I have eaten since starting my diet that I really like. Also, I have lost 10.2lbs so far so I must be doing something right.
