By now you’ve all heard that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is incoming next week and will have a “premium” service along with it. But what does that premium service entail, and how much will it cost me? I can answer that pretty easily with (answered in order): “a lot” and “not an extra cent”! How does that sound?
Yes, Bandai Namco are offering something never before seen in the fighting game world with their “World Tekken Federation” (WTF for short) service which will keep track of all stats from every gamer and the fighter they use during their time with Tekken Tag 2! With hit statistics, win/loss records and other features like instant replays from around the world and team stats, gamers will have a bevy of numbers and data to look at after every match.
What Bandai Namco intends to do with this service is help gamers, especially the newer fighting game fans, excel with learning the ropes and understand where they may need an extra hand in doing so. Their aptly named “WTF” service will ensure that you’re never unsure why you might have lost a fight, or why that one contender is constantly juggling you (it might because that’s his best tactic). What the “WTF” website allows you to do is see all of that, and build your strategy off of those variables!
One of the best features of “WTF” is the team page. Here you’ll be able to have your own team forum and trade tips and help build your weaker teammates up through the ranks and make sure they’re worthy of being a part of your team! With real-time stats always updating, directly after every match, you’ll never be completely lost as to why you were defeated, and how you can prevent that from happening again.
I can still hear you screaming “But how much does this cost?!” Well, rest easy Tekken fan, this service will be completely free to all that buy it brand new! No word on used copies of the game, we’ll check back with our source and get back to you. Bandai Namco will never charge you for additional characters or this service, and aside from the previously announced Big Bikini DLC, you’ll not need to shell out any additional coin to enjoy Tekken Tag 2 come day one! They were very clear that you won’t be paying for this service and any additional characters- they’re all free with your purchase!
With Tekken Tag Tournament 2 launching the 11th this month, Tekken fans and those who may be interested in what the series may have to offer, aside from Capoeira fighters and giant Pandas kicking ass, Tekken Tag 2 is looking like the game to start with!
