Assassin's Creed III screen

It is time. You’ve been waiting for it and it has finally come. Ubisoft has released Assassin’s Creed III‘s official launch trailer, which means that Assassin’s Creed III is officially here!

The trailer itself is narrated by someone who it seems is discussing with Conner why he fights. It shows a bit of Conner out of his assassin garb, as a child, as an adult, watching his people mistreated, and his home burn. It then shows the transformation into the assassin that the British will come to fear. After that, Conner is seen hunting in the wild, being totally at home within it.

The colonies are soon shown and bits of the start of the American Revelation are easily recognized, such as the Boston Massacre. Buildings are broken, ships are sank, soldiers are killed and the war is fought. All the while, Conner is told what hope he can bring to these people torn apart by this conflict. He is told that he can be the hero of this war. While the trailer definitely has a depressing overarching focus, the voice talking to Conner and what he says gives a glimpse of an undertone of hope.

Along with all this story and exposition, gameplay is showcased heavily giving gamers a real look at what they, as Conner, will be able to do.

As a launch trailer, it is pieced together well and does what it needs to do: get you pumped for Assassin’s Creed III. Look for Assassin’s Creed III in stores now for PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC will gets its time on November 20, and Assassin’s Creed III will be a launch title with the Wii U two days earlier on November 18.
