Suda 51, a name synonymous with uniqueness, absurdity, and works that leave you talking for months after their release. And now he, Grasshopper Mancufacture, and Reverb Games bring you his latest twisted tale: Black Knight Sword this month on XBLA. A journey which will take you through many classic fairy-tales and utterly destroy them as you aim to defeat the Evil White Princess.

As a throwback to the 8/16-bit games of old, Black Knight Sword looks to be a merging of games like Ghosts n’ Goblins and Castlevania, and I for one, can’t wait to get my hands on everything it has to offer. For me, Suda 51 brings a lot of new, although occasionally faulty ideas to the industry; and oftentimes I enjoy the hell out of them! With familiar games like Dust: An Elysian Tail released earlier this year, 2D hack & slash/platformers are still capable of being most excellent, and there’s hoping Black Knight Sword can follow suit and close out 2012 strong.
