Yoshi’s New Island, last seen announced on April’s Nintendo Direct, points to a direction taken with New Super Mario Bros, add a splash of new to an already highly-praised game. From off-screen footage, youtube user, NiNTENDOMiNATiON, films the upcoming platformer.
As you would expect, the long-awaited sequel to the SNES / Game Boy Advanced Yoshi game remains the same charming gameplay as before, but with the new fangled tech and abilities of a 3DS. Aside from the visual upgrade, the new feature of the binoculars helps see the entire level with the use of the console-shifting gyroscope. In addition, Yoshi’s New Island relegates the bottom touch screen to basic information (collectible, level, lives), compared to Yoshi’s Island DS’s way of smashing the two together, hindering egg aiming.
Yoshi’s New Island’s 3DS due date remains a mystery.
