According to Kotaku, who has apparently received leaked casting sheets, the highly anticipated Fallout 4 is being worked on by Bethesda and it will be set in Boston. With the recent drama surrounding TheSurvivor2299, which turned out to be a hoax, Fallout 4 has been on everyone’s mind. Yet, with all the fan fervor Bethesda has refused to acknowledge that they were working on a new game in the series. If these documents are authentic however, then that question has been answered.
With any casting sheets details can be changed, so much of the story and character information will likely not be relevant to the final game. However, it is interesting to see some of the similarities with past titles and get some idea of the possible direction of the game. As always, the game seems to start with the phrase “War. War never changes.” This time it is being spoken by the player character rather than Ron Perlman. Further reading reveals a radio DJ character and a trip to “The Institute”, which will be a post-apocalyptic version of MIT.
While all of the information might not be true to the final product, we can surmise that a new Fallout game is being worked on and that it will at least be partially based in the Boston area. The documents used the code-name of “Institute”, so even the title of Fallout 4 is just another assumption. Hopefully this leak spurs Bethesda to unveil the project so that we can stop assuming, and start getting excited about the next Fallout game.
